Spring cleaning isn't just for our homes. Have you thought of spring cleaning your business, work and office? It's a great time to clear out the cobwebs and sweep the dust off ideas, delayed projects, and yes, your actual working space too. We like these top tips:
  • Business plan: Every business needs to be nimble to optimize opportunities. Check in with your original plan to get you back on track and/or update it to reflect where you are now.
  • Finances and processes: Review not only the basics (balance sheets, P&Ls, etc.) but processes as well. Do you have a system in place to double-check bookkeeping? Is your expense reporting efficient? And don't forget those taxes! (Ahh, taxes, how could we forget?)
  • Social media: Take a look at your social media plan. Is it working for your organization? Are there untapped opportunities to grow interest? Could you adjust your strategy?
  • Space: Clean your work space virtually AND physically! This is spring cleaning, peeps, so a perfect time to actually clean. Schedule time to clean up your email -  zero inbox, anyone? Delete electronic files and docs that aren't used or vital for records. And then, yes, take care of those piles on the desk. Take cleaner to your space and electronics. When I stop and look at my laptop, I'm surprised at how grody it can get (don't judge, sometimes I eat while working!)
  • You: take care of yourself so you can take care of business. Spring is a great time to reconnect with those New Year health resolutions (I know, January is SO 3 months ago) and enjoy the warmer weather by walking, biking and enjoying the outdoors.
We invite you to follow these tips and put a little spring back into your step.
