Fun at the State Fair

From the moment you step through the main gate, the Colorado State Fair does a magnificent job sharing the story of the community and history of Colorado. Having worked with the State Fair in our previous positions, it was especially enjoyable to see how the Fair has expanded while holding true to it's roots. Creative, funny, tasty, odd, old...fun at the Fair is as diverse as Colorado's counties.

Here are our Top 5 experiences from this year's trip:
  • Wild About Monkeys - Yes, there is a live monkey show. If you've seen the Rock of Ages movie then you will recognize this little fella.
  • Championship rodeo - The caliber of athletes competing was jaw-dropping. Those men and women are world champs for a reason!
  • Ice-cold water - This seems like an odd one but we were so pleased to see water filling stations at the Fair. We've been taking note of which events have water readily available. The Fair kept us happy and hydrated without adding another plastic bottle to the recycle bin.
  • Frozen banana - There are countless decadent food options to chose from but we highly recommend the frozen banana covered with peanut butter cookie dough, dipped in chocolate and nuts. Hey, when in Rome - or Pueblo - eat in moderation.
  • 4-H exhibits - Our minds were blown away by the cakes, clothes, quilts and dioramas on display in the youth 4-H building. Colorado kids are super talented!
We know firsthand that the staff and volunteers are dedicated to making the Fair experience one of a kind (big shout out to Chris and Sheri!) We recommend you visit to see it all for yourself. It ends this Monday so buy your tickets today!
